Student Demographics

Student Demographics report provides student enrollment for the most recent five fall terms. The report is presented by university, college, and department as well as by student level which based on degree objective. All enrollment numbers include students reported to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) as well as out-of-state distance education students.

Reporting Selection
TAMU: Unduplicated headcount of students enrolled by the 2nd census (20th day in Fall and Spring, 15th day in Summer). It includes the students enrolled by the census, students who registered between the 1st and 2nd census dates, out-of-state distance education students, English Language Institute (ELI) and study abroad students.
IPEDS: Unduplicated headcount of students enrolled as of the official census date (12th day in Fall and Spring, 4th day in Summer) as well as out-of-state distance education students. Excludes late registrations, study abroad students and students enrolled at Qatar.
IPEDS+Qatar: Unduplicated headcount of students enrolled as of the official census date (12th day in Fall and Spring, 4th day in Summer) as well as out-of-state distance education students and Qatar enrollment as of the reporting census date. Excludes late registrations, and study abroad students.
THECB: Headcounts as reported to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). May include duplication in some years due to co-enrollments. Excludes students registered after the 1st census date, out-of-state distance education, study abroad and Qatar.

Student Race/Ethnicity

Ethnicity/Race categories indicate the ethnic origin of the student. The student reports use the THECB categories. Students are classified as “International” if they are not citizens of the United States but are in the United States on a temporary basis and do not have the right to remain indefinitely.  Non-citizen students, who are lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or Resident Aliens, are reported in the appropriate racial/ethnic category along with United States Citizens. The unknown classification is reserved for US citizens that have not selected a racial/ethnic designation.
